Educators at The Island School teach small classes in a warm and welcoming classroom setting within a school facility set on a woodsy campus. Active parent volunteering is part of the school culture, along with a tangible sense of community once you walk through the doors. All decisions are made through the lens of what is best for children and the curriculum is grounded in the latest research on what best serves children at this stage of development.

Substitute Teachers

The Island School seeks substitutes for the 2021-2022 school year, supporting teaching and learning in one of our small elementary school classes (typical maximum of 18 children with a teacher and part-time teaching assistant). The individual must demonstrate a love and respect for children and understand the vital importance of social/emotional learning.  Substitutes must have a bachelor’s degree and proof of COVID-19 vaccination. The hourly rate for this position is $18.00.
