Loretta Morgan, our amazing Business Manager for the past 24 years, is retiring in July. While our community will deeply miss Loretta, we are happy for her as she moves into this next chapter of her life.
Loretta’s decision is part of a thoughtful and intentional plan to ensure the stability and financial security of the school. Back in 2015 The Island School Board developed a succession plan for the school’s leadership team as some members of the team looked ahead to retirement. According to the plan, Trish King, former Head of School, retired in June of 2019. And now Loretta is ready to take her turn at retirement.
It is impossible to fully describe the impact Loretta has made in her tenure here at The Island School. While we are confident that we will hire an outstanding new business manager, no one can replace Loretta. Those of us who know her best feel lucky, and we are eager to honor her career dedicated to our community. We will celebrate Loretta before her official retirement in July. Details will be forthcoming this spring.
